Character Name:Yasutora "Chad" Sado

Appearance: Chad is physically imposing, towering over adults far older than he is, with muscles that clearly show his tremendous strength. He has dark skin that reflects the Mexican half of his heritage, has a strong square jaw, and dark curly hair that usually covers his eyes. In contrast to his intimidating appearance, Chad favors loud floral print shirts, although currently he is wearing a tight dark blue shirt with a rose on the shoulder, white kaki pants, and white boots. Around his neck he wears a gold Mexican coin given to him by his Abuelo, which he considers to be more valuable than his life. He also has a tattoo of a rose and a snake on his left shoulder that reads 'Amore e Morte.' When he activates his special power, his arm becomes encased in red and black armor with two prongs emerging from his shoulder. His voice, though rarely heard, is very deep, and his eyes, though rarely seen, are filled with compassion.

Personality: If not for his size most people would overlook Chad because of how quiet he is. Chad is one of those people who prefers to listen to the people around him, and will only speak when he feels it is necessary. When he does speak, however, it is usually very observant, and he is willing to offer honest criticism of his friends, without being malicious. He prefers to speak with his actions, rather than his words. Chad can, however, also be surprisingly witty at times.
A second facet of Chad’s personality is his utter refusal to fight for himself. While he is willing to fight to defend others, before he met Ichigo he would willingly stand and take a beating while offering no resistance. Ichigo’s promise, that he would throw his punches for Chad and that Chad would throw his punches for Ichigo, he is more willing to fight. Still, Chad does not like resolving conflicts with violence, and will seek other possible solutions.
Chad is also intensely loyal to his friends, fully willing to follow Ichigo in his invasion of the afterlife in order to rescue a girl he barely knew. He is incredibly determined as well, standing up to opponents who are far more powerful than he is and refusing to back down. Others have remarked that he seems to have no fear, once having taken on a hollow that he couldn’t sense in any fashion with his bare hands.
Finally, Chad has a deep love of all things cute. He will go out of his way to take care of small fuzzy animals and greatly enjoys their company.

Abilities: Chad’s physical strength and durability are immense. Even before unlocking his powers Chad was fully capable of shrugging off a steel girder falling on him and ripping a telephone pole out of the ground.
Chad’s powers, which he developed from exposure to Ichigo’s own abilities, allow him to form armor around his right, and later left arm. With these arms his already immense strength is increased even further, and he gains the ability to use a variety of energy attacks as well as move at superhuman speeds.
However, upon arriving in Manhattan Chad finds that he can only activate the initial form of his right arm, and is unable to activate his left arm at all. Furthermore, not only is his energy blast reduced in strength, it can only blow up a car as opposed to a building, but he can only fire it two or three times a day. He has also lost the ability to use his super speed and his strength is only slightly greater than when he was a human.
As stated above, Chad is extremely observant, and is able to read people quite well. He is highly intelligent, ranking 11th in his entire class.

Weaknesses: Chad has a tendency to be self sacrificing to a harmful extent. He will not fight back if he does not believe in his own cause, and when he does believe in a cause he will never back down from a fight, even when he sometimes should.
His quiet nature means he sometimes has trouble reaching out to others, and usually other people have to make the first move to befriend him. He tends to hold his own life as having less value than other peoples, which is part of why he is so determined to protect people.

Manhattanite or outsider?Outsider

History: Sado was born in Okinawa but moved the Mexico as a young boy after his parents died in a car crash to live with his grandfather, his Abuelo. Unfortunately, Sado struggled to deal with his parents deaths, and later admitted to acting like a rotten kid. He constantly picked fights and got into trouble, until the day he got in too far over his head, and was only saved when Abuelo stepped in and took his beating for him. After that, Sado transformed his life, embracing his Abuelo’s philosophy that his strong arms were not meant to hurt, but rather to defend.

Years later, after Abuelo died, Sado returned to the country where he was born and entered Jr. High School in Karakura Town. Then one day he stepped in to help a certain orange haired punk who was being beaten senseless by some thugs. Ichigo was surprised that Sado (who Ichigo called Chad after mispronouncing his last name, and to Chad’s amusement has called him ever since) would not fight back in his own defense. After Ichigo saved Chad from a gang, however, they made their fateful promise to throw their punches for each other, to fight for each others causes, and Chad has been Ichigo’s best friend ever since.

Following Rukia’s arrival, and Ichigo’s own emergence as a Substitute Shinigami, Chad’s spiritual powers began to awaken following an incident involving a talking bird, a musical Hollow, and the gates of Hell. They did not fully awaken, however, until an attack on Karakura Town by a massive group of Hollows. Chad found himself defending Ichigo’s little sister Karin from a Hollow, and in the process first activated the power in his right arm to slay the Hollow. Shortly afterwards Rukia was recaptured by Soul Society and Chad began training under the mysterious Yoruichi to fully master his powers in preparation for Ichigo’s rescue attempt.

Upon arriving in Soul Society, Chad became separated from the group and blasted his way through a small army of Shinigami officers before finally meeting his match in the veteran Captain Shunsui Kyōraku who easily bested him, but impressed by Chad’s determination decided to spare his life. Chad was later broken out of prison by Captian Zaraki, but played only a minimal role in the rest of the battle in Soul Society. Finally, Ichigo successfully rescued Rukia, and Aizen, the true mastermind behind the events in Soul Society was exposed. Chad and his companions returned home.

The peace was not to last, as Karakura town came under attack by a succession of powerful Hollows called Arrancar in the service of Aizen. During these battles Chad learned that he was no longer strong enough to fight by Ichigo’s side, and so turned to Urahara, the man who had trained Ichigo, to become stronger. After several months of intense training Chad was ready to join Ichigo when the substitute Shinigami was planning to break into the Hollow world Hueco Mundo to rescue their friend Orihime who had been kidnapped by Aizen. Upon arriving in Aizen’s palace, the group split up, and Chad faced a former Espada, the strongest of the Arrancar. After initial difficulties, Chad was able to unlock his true power, learning that it was Hollow in nature, and crush his opponent. Shortly after, however, he was badly beaten by the Fifth Espada Nnoitra. Although he was rescued by Captain Unohana before he could be killed, Chad passed out while being healed, and somehow awoke to find himself in Manhattan…
